Editors note: I started following Abel Maldonado’s career after I was introduced to him at his first Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce meeting. The very first impression I had of Able was how young he was to have accomplished so much. I started looking into his business success and was very pleased to find out he was the read deal. Everyone spoke very highly of him and all agreed he was on his way to greater things depending on what path he chose.
We did a feature story on his and his family’s business, Agro-Jal Farms, Inc. and later a cover story on him in the November, 1996 issue of the magazine. We have include them here along with a letter to the editor we ran during his run for Mayor of Santa Maria.
Strictly Business Magazine indorsed Abel for his first bid to the City Council of Santa Maria, again for his bid for Mayor and also for his run for the California State Assembly. We see no reason to change our position.
